Thank You For The Memory

Its my turn to host the challenge over at Daring Cardmakers and this weeks its called.....

Memories

I have been so sentimental lately and remembering lots of happy times. So I would like you to create a card with a meaning or memory behind it and explain the meaning of your creation. Perhaps who it's for, why you made it and the memories it made.

Here is my card:

I made this card as my daughter loves My Little Pony but also I created this from a memory that I shared with my Dad.

As a child I also loved My Little Pony and I really wanted the grooming parlour.  So as it wasn't my birthday my Dad decided he would make one for me.  He made it from pink and blue card and it was a carriage to put my cotton candy pony in.

I remember it didn't hold together very well as my Dad made the glue from flour and water but that didn't matter to me as I thought it was the best thing ever.

The unicorn image and sentiment are from My Time Made Easy which I have coloured with promarkers.

I have used a selection of papers from Pink Petticoat which the lovely Liz as re-launched as The Lovely Studio.

I then added some lovely sequins which are available from Paper Sweeties.

Don't forget to stop by the Design Team Blogs to hear about some more memories.

All you have to do is create and coffee/fall themed card and take part in the hop.

There is a tonne of sponsors taking part so come and check it out.

Here is my card:

I have used the Coffee, Yes Please stamp and matching die set from Paper sweeties.
I made some little to go cups from the set and added some little coffee beans.

I tried to use a lot of kraft as its for Autumn but also though it would make a great make card.

Have a lovely weekend.

Thank You For The Inspiration

Hello everyone.

Friday again and time for another challenge at Daring Cardmakers.

Its Miri's turn this week to host and she has picked.

Thank you for the Inspiration

So your need to create a card that's inspired by the style, blog or a certain card of another crafter who is not super famous yet (=less than 400 followers).
I picked my lovely friend Karen from Maudie Papercraft as she has helped and encouraged me to get inky.  I never really used coloured inks before.  I was always a black ink outline kind of stamper who then coloured the image in using promarkers.

But she has encourage to step beyond my comfort zone and use coloured inks.

So this card is a thank you to you Karen if you are reading my blog post.

I have used the gorgeous jar of love stamp set from Stampin Up which comes with some little flowers that you can two step stamp which I love.  I stamped some onto pink card and some onto white which alters the colours slightly.

Here is a close up.

Don't forget to stop by the Design Team Blogs to see who inspires them.

Have a great day.

Warm Winter Wishes

Well I have to say I am so looking forward to Christmas this year, especially with two little ones in the house.  I have been browsing through Pinterest at all the lovely Christmas ideas and I only dream that my Christmas will be like the pictures I see.
I have been cracking on with the festive makes and here is another using the lovely inspiration from
This weeks challenge is to include something warm on your cards.

Here is my card and I went with a warming winter drink.  This could be a lovely mug of hot chocolate.

The little mug is from a stamp set from Paper Sweeties.
I then created a little chalk board for my sentiment and a cute little snowflake.  I of course had to finish with a jingle bell.

The layout for the card is from the challenge at Mojo Monday.

Favourite Books

This weeks challenge at Daring Cardmakers is all about your favourite books.

Leo our host would like you to make a card inspired by your favourite novel/book series. Maybe some Pride & Prejudice Regency stylings, or perhaps you're more a John Grisham fan or how about a fantasy filled card inspired by Terry Pratchett!
Some many books, so many possibilities ;)

Well I have to admit I am not much of a reader unless you count bedtime reading with my little ones.

So I have based my card on a book I loved as a child.

and here is my card:

I had a little play with my Jar of Love stamps and dies from Stampin Up and made a little shaker filled with stars and eyes.

I then used a star embossing folder to create some of the background.  The purple glitter card is embossed but it was very hard to photograph.

I added more stars using the star thinlits die from Stampin Up.

Merry Monday

Yesterday was my birthday so I had a little crafty time in-between two kids and one of them is a toddler so I now have my hands full.  Also today we are celebrating our wedding anniversary, 9 years ago today we said "oui".  I can't believe how quick the time has gone.  Like any married couple we have had our ups and downs but I couldn't image any other person beside me on this fantastic journey.

Anyway my card today isn't anything to do with love or marriage its all about Christmas.

The challenge this week at Merry Monday is a lovely inspiration image.

and here is my card inspired by the picture.

I was inspired by the colours and the wood elements in the image.

I used a stocking die and added some lace and pom pom trim along with some jingle bells.

I then used a wood grain embossing folder to create the background.

Have a lovely day!!

What a Wonderful World

I had my lovely Stampin Up friend over yesterday for a crafty date.  There wasn't a lot of crafting going on but we did chat a lot and have a good look through the new Christmas catalogue.

I got my new stamp set called jar of love and I love it.  Just need to have a good play with it now.

So to this weeks challenge at Daring Cardmakers and Its called What A Wonderful World.

Kathy is our host this week as her Dad loved the Louis Armstrong song she would like you to be inspired by the lyrics when you make your card.  You can use the whole "world", or maybe choose one or more lines from the song to use.

"What A Wonderful World"

I see trees of green, red roses too.
I see them bloom, for me and you.
And I think to myself,
What a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue, and clouds of white.
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night.
And I think to myself,
What a wonderful world.

The colours of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky.
Are also on the faces, of people going by,
I see friends shaking hands.saying, "How do you do?"
They're really saying; "I love you".

I hear babies cry, I watch them grow,
They'll learn much more, than I'll ever know.
And I think to myself,
What a wonderful world.

Yes, I think to myself,
What a wonderful world.

My husbands Nana also loved this song so here is a little card for you Nana.  Love and think about you every day.

From the song I went with some little red roses and the words "I Love You"

I also made my card CAS and added some pretty pink pom pom trim

And of course my favourite sequins from Paper Sweeties.

Don't forget to stop by the Design Team Blogs and have a great weekend.

Big Cheer for Christmas!!

I love Christmas!!  So I am happy now that I can start creating my Christmas cards.  I have even started watching the odd Christmas movie to fill me with inspiration and  I love a good Christmas cooking program.  I have a few saved to my sky box so I have been watching those, much to my husbands annoyance.

Here is one of them:

I created a card using the Stampin Up jar of love set.  I am sorry to say but they will be a lot of these popping up as I just love it!!!
And I love adding shaker elements to my cards.

The inside of the jar is from an old stamp set by Annabelle Stamps which I though would look lovely.
I then finished with some ribbon and gold glitter tape.

This card is for the challenge at Merry Monday to use black, gold and white.

and the layout is for the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.

September Elemental Inspiration

Its Friday again and where did the summer go.  As its the first Friday of the month its elemental inspiration time at Daring Cardmakers.

Here is the lovely picture that Svenja our host picked for this week.

Don't forget to choose at least three elements from the picture.

I picked the boat, clouds, the sea and kraft card to represent the sand.

I am not an inky person so I was rather pleased to be able to create my own background.  I used two different shades of blue to create the sea and add a little bit of white ink to create some waves (which you can't see very well in the photo)

I then used some kraft card and tore the edges as I wanted to represent the sand.

This card is a little nod to my Dad who has fought so long using medication to keep his cancer in check but now he is needing chemotherapy.

So I like to think that this little boat is my Dad sailing in the big, wide sometimes rough ocean to reach his goal and kicking cancers butt.

I also think the sentiment is very true.

Love you Dad.

Paper Sweeties Inspiration - September

Well its back to school for my little girl today.  She has grown up over this last year and now she is off into a different class.  I feel so proud of her!  Good luck today my little flip flop (my pet name for her).

I also have some lovely news I am guest designing for Paper Sweeties for their Inspiration Challenge.

Here is the lovely picture for you to be inspired by this month.
Also I think I maybe a little colour blind as when I downloaded the above image on my Ipad it looked red but the flowers are PINK!!! Oops!
and here are my creations:

For this card I was inspired by the colours, the little mason jar filled with flowers and the chalk.

A great inspiration board for your back to school cards.

This was the first card I made and my daughter said she didn't like it!!

I used the stamp set called Coffee, yes please to create the little vase along with the matching sweet cut dies and used the chalkboard technique.

I then added some of the gorgeous sequins from Paper Sweeties called Cupcake.

The sequins are the pretties I have ever seen and are so sparkly.

This is a second card I created.  For this one I used the same stamp set but used the little cup instead for my vase of flowers.

I again finished with some of the beautiful sequins.

I hope you can stop by and check out the website at Paper Sweeties for more lovely inspiration and gorgeous craft supplies.

I feel in love as soon as I saw my pretty pink envelope arrive in the mail.

Have a lovely day and good luck to all returning to school today.
