Crochet Away

Where are these weeks going??  Its Friday again and it means its challenge time at Daring Cardmakers.

Lythan is our lovely host this weeks and she would like you to be inspired crochet.

Perhaps you are inspired by the patterns, or use some wool on your card or even a bit of crochet.

Here is my card.

I went with a bit of texture from the wood grain embossing folder I used to create the oval and also a little bit of lace that looks like it has been crocheted.

My Stampin Up friend Karen came over for me to try the new Jar Of Love set.  This set comes with a matching set of dies and would make some great shaker cards.

I think this set is next on my to buy list.  I love how you can two step stamp the flowers.  The set even comes with a tiny goldfish which is just so cute.

Summery Drinks

We have just got back from a lovely week away here in Brittany, France.  We went to a campsite just over an hour away from home and it was fantastic.

So when I came back I was inspired by the challenge at House of Cards.  Look how summery and refreshing the image is.

I die cut the little jug and glasses onto vellum and then added a little bit of ink to look like a refreshing summer drink.

The papers I have used are from Stampin Up called cherry on top.

I also used the sketch from Viva La Verve.

Add a Doodle

Its Friday and its challenge time at Daring Cardmakers.

Our lovely host Purvi is amazing artist and a lot of her cards have hand drawn images on them.

So this weeks challenge is to take inspiration from her style and add a hand drawn image, doodle, scribble and make the pen your friend.

Check out her blog HERE.

I am not very good at drawing so I have gone with doodle clouds and rain drops.

The papers are from Stampin Up called cherry on top and I have made the umbrella into a shaker card.

I think my card is appropriate at the moment as the weather here in France cant decide whether to be sunny or rainy.

Its also my Dads birthday today.  So Happy Birthday Dad if you are reading this.

Have a great weekend.

Strawberries and Cream

Hello everyone!

This week at Daring cardmakers its Sharon turn to host.

So continuing with the summer theme its

 Strawberries and Cream.

Since it's Wimbledon season and most definitely the time for strawberries in the UK, Sharon would like you to either feature strawberries on your card, or just take inspiration from a strawberry and cream colour scheme.

To make my strawberry I used the owl builder punch from Stampin up and just cut off the feet and ears.  The top of the strawberry was made with the little heart that's also on the punch.

My husband and daughter did say that my strawberry looks like a pepper!!!

I made the little flowers using the Rose Creation die from Spellbinders.  I then made the background using the wood grain embossing folder from Stampin up which is a little hard to see in white.

Summer Party

Another Friday is here and its another challenge at Daring Cardmakers

Summer is definitely in full swing on the blog today.

This weeks challenge is called Summer Party and Miri our lovely host would like to see on your cards the perfect ingredient for a summer party.

This could be bunting, BBQ, water melon, lemonade, water/football etc...

Here is my card.

I went with the BBQ.  I love a good BBQ party,  we even had one at our wedding reception. My husband is the BBQ king in our house.

I had to add a little bit of bunting as well.

The image is from My Time Made Easy called Grilling Season.  The papers I have used are from Stampin Up called cherry on top.

Thinking of You

Morning all.
I always fall in love with a new technique then I use it a lot it all my creations.  This time I have fallen in love with shaker cards.  I seem to have made a few just lately but they add such a fun element to your cards.

I have made a little star shaker on this card using the Star Framelit Dies from Stampin Up.

The papers I have used are from Authentique called Abroad and the little sentiment is from Pink Petticoat.

This card is just to let my parents know that I am thinking about them.  As I find it hard sometimes been in another country and I do miss them.

This card is for a couple of challenges:

I was inspired by the wood grain on the little truck and the colours.

Here is my summery take on this weeks challenge.

The element's that I picked were shells, string, clouds, colours, beach theme and stripes.

Now I am excited for the holidays to spend some time with my family and I hope the weather matches this weeks challenge photo.
