Fools Gold

This weeks challenge at Daring Cardmakers is hosted Sharon and its all about GOLD.  Sharon would like to see gold featured heavily on your creations.  There are bonus points for using rose gold with is Sharon's favourite.

I have gone with a Tim Holtz inspired card.  I have used a Tim Holtz embossing folder and used some core'dinations card and then lightly sanded over the top.

I then took my clear ink pad and gently wiped it over the surface and then added some gold embossing powder to create the back ground.

The cogs and gears are also from Tim Holtz and I have just ran them through my Big Sot using gold card.

The stop watch is a die cut from Sizzix and the clock face and sentiment are from Prima.

I then added a little peacock feather which was an old earring.

Leaf It Alone.

Hello everyone I hope you have all got back into crafting after the Christmas holidays.
Its another weekly challenge over at Daring Cardmakers and this weeks dare is hosted by Jo.  Jo asks that we feature leaves on our cards and make them the star rather than an accent.

I have made my card a bit Autumnal but I am sure a lot of you are hoping for spring to hurry up and arrive.  I am sick of all this wet weather and our garden is so muddy at the moment.

A very lovely craft friend gave me the leaf stem die which I have used.   She no longer uses her big shot as she has now bought a different die cutter.

I then added a little wooden ladybird which looks really cute, a few gems and the backing paper has leaves on it too.

Elemental Inspiration

Happy New Year!!!

This is my first post after the Christmas holidays and I hope you all had a lovely time.
Its also the first challenge of 2016 from Daring Cardmakers.  As its the first Friday of the month after the break we have a lovely Elemental Inspiration challenge for you.

Jo our lovely host this week has picked the gorgeous picture below.
Remember to use at least 3 elements.

The elements I have used are:
colours - I just love the pop of red
sequins
heart and stars
corrugated card to match the cupcake cases.
ric rac ribbon
glitter card

I have used a lot of elements this time but as you can see in the picture there are a few to choose from.

I have used a star embossing folder which I purchase from my lovely friend at Kerudoc Creation and embossed the stars onto white corrugated card.  I have also used some Tim Holtz dies to create the scalloped edges along with a piece of ric rac.

I have also included my favourite die!! The sentiment is from a selection at Pink Petticoat and I have finished with some sequins.
