BBQ King

Hello everyone and welcome to another Spellblogger post from Spellbinders.
Does anyone else like to get ahead with their card making?  I am already thinking about Fathers Day.  So today I have a BBQ themed card to share with you.

To make my card I layered a square of white card stock onto some black.  I then added some strips of designer paper to the bottom and added the Daddy sentiment use an alphabet die from Spellbinders.
I then die cut a circle using the pierced circles set also from Spellbinders.

Next I cut out all the BBQ elements using the Die D-Lites Weekend Grill.  The set is super cute as it also comes with the BBQ tools and a little bottle.
Please check out my other Weekend Grill post HERE where I have used the little bottle from the set.
I then finished with my card with a few sequins.
Thanks for stopping by today and please check out the website over at Spellbinders for details about the dies I have used on todays project.

Watch The Birdie

Happy Friday everyone.
Its challenge time at Daring Cardmakers.  The lovely Shabneez is the host and this week its all about birds.
Shabneez would like to see a bird on your creation.  It can be a focal point, embellishment, stamp or a die.

For my card I just stamped a little bird flying in the distance.
I created my card using a lovely die set from Spellbinders called Die D-Lites Flight 2.
I started by adding a square of patterned paper to my card blank.  I then trimmed down a white piece of card stock and used the cloud from the die set so you can see the paper behind.  I then added more clouds cut from white and glitter card.

I cut the hot balloon from white card and used some blue ink to highlight the embossed areas and then created a drop shadow with another balloon cut from black card stock.  I thought this way the hot air balloon would stand out more.  I also used the little bunting die that comes in the set and cut this using some yellow designer paper.

To finish I die cut the word Dad, again creating a drop shadow using a lovely die set from Spellbinders which you can find HERE.
I then added some enamel dots to complete my card.
Please stop by the Daring Cardmakers blog for more lovely inspiration from the Design Team and we can wait to see what you create.
Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely weekend.

Pearly and Texture

Hello Crafters and Bubbly Funk Fans.
I am sharing a new project with you today and something that I have never done before.  Whilst I was on work experience at the craft shop and stationery supplies I treated myself to some texture paste so I could have a play with all the lovely stencils that I was sent from Bubbly Funk.

I started with a square of white card stock and placed my stencil over the top and stuck it in place with a little tape.  I then used some pearly white texture paste.  I scooped out what I needed onto my craft sheet and added a little colour from a couple of Tim Holtz ink pads. I then pressed the paste into the stencil.  Once covered gently remove the stencil and leave to dry.  I left mine to dry over night.

I then added some beautiful die cut butterflies and a simple sentiment in black card stock using dies available from SPELLBINDERS.

I then finished with this beautiful silver trim which came from the "seeing stars" craft box with is available in the Bubbly Funk SHOP.
Please also check out the SHOP for more beautiful stencils and other crafty items to create your beautiful projects.

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day.

Happy Spring

Good morning Crafters.
I hope you all had a lovely weekend.  Well the sun arrived here in France very briefly on Saturday which was so lovely just to feel a little heat and a hint of the warmer weather to come.
Today I have a Spellblogger post from Spellbinders which was inspired by the sunshine.

I have made this bright and cheerful card to celebrate spring or even Easter.

I started with a square of white card and used the Embossing Folder by Donna Salazar called Chicken Wire. I then matted this onto some kraft card stock.  I found some pretty spring time designer paper in my crafty stash and cut a large circle from this using the Celebrations Pierced Circles.  I also cut a smaller circle from white card stock and attached these to my card.

I then cut out lots of letters in different coloured glitter card using the Alphabet Die from a previous small die of the month kit.
I love to include rainbows somewhere on a card and I think these letters allow you to do this and to create lots of fun sentiments on your cards.  A very versatile set.

To finish my card I added a butterfly from the Die D-Lites Flying Bugs Set and a couple of pearls.
Thanks for stopping by today and have a lovely day.

Getting To Know You

Happy Weekend to you all.
Its my turn to host the challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers blog.
I want to get to know you as a crafter.  What are your favourite techniques and where do you like to craft?
If you follow my blog you will all know how much I love to make shaker cards.  I think they are so much fun and I get to add another of my favourite crafting elements, glitter and sequins.
So for my own challenge I had to make a shaker card using one of my favourite stamp sets from Stampin Up called Jar Of Love.
I cut out the jar several times and cut out the centre to make lots of frame to house my sequins.  I find this way easier than using foam tape as the sequins and glitter always seem to escape.

To create the background of my card I used another stamp set from Stampin Up called wood words and I then used the wood planks embossing folder also from Stampin up.
I decided to keep my card simple in colour and used a lot of white space.  I then used the Die D-Lites Create A Sunflower Die to add some colour to my jar.

I finished with a die cut greeting using Shapeabilities Simply said Phrase One Set.
Thanks for stopping by today and please check out what favourite techniques the Design Team like to use over on the Daring Cardmakers Blog.

Hello everyone and welcome to Monday.  I hope you all had a lovely weekend.  I am back at college today learning French.  It was hard work whilst on work experience as everyone talks so fast and I never knew that you could buy so many different pens.
I did get to see some lovely new craft items arrive ready for Easter and I also treated myself to some texture paste.  So hopefully I will get to have a play and post my creation to my blog later.
I have a Spellblogger post from Spellbinders to share with you today.
I had some craft items still left over from the Fun and Sparkle Card Kit of the Month so I thought I would use these up.

I picked out some of the designer paper as I wanted to use this very cute camera die called Die D-Lites Smile Up.
It also comes with a little banner in the set that reads smile.
I used various other items from the card kit including the photo style frame, enamel dots and a few stickers.

I then cut the camera from two colours of card and created a drop shadow and added a little ink to high light the embossed areas.
A super cute and quick card to make someone smile.
Thanks for stopping by today and have a lovely day.

Daring Cardmakers - March Elemental Inspiration

Hello Everyone.
Its my last day on  work experience at my local stationery and craft supplies shop as part of my French language course.  I am shattered.  I think I will be glad to back in the class room learning French.
I even scared a few people away during my first week as I was full of cold and lost my voice.
We have a lovely elemental inspiration challenge this week at Daring Cardmakers.
Our host Miri has picked this gorgeous mood board.  I hope it helps with all your Spring creations and remember to use at least 3 elements.
For my card I picked the sunflowers, colours and geometric shapes inspired by the lampshade.
I started with a square of white card and I embossed this using a chicken wire design embossing folder.  Then I die cut lots of hexagons from some pretty patterned paper and added this to the bottom of my card.

I then used this gorgeous Shapeabilities Create A Sunflower Die from Spellbinders.  Each "create a flower die" from Spellbinders all come with easy to follow instructions.  You just die cut and start gluing.
I then added a few pearls and this little black and gold sentiment sticker.

I think I will be using this little die a lot more as it makes a lovely statement piece for your creations.

Have a great day and please stop by the Daring Cardmakers blog to check out more lovely inspiration from the Design Team.
